Pete’s Story

Pete Volos, a native of south-eastern Sydney, Australia was raised in a household steeped in Greek ancestry,  his parents were both Australian born with their parents immigrated after World War Two. The Greek culture, a powerful influence from his grandparents, instilled in him a unique perspective on life. Pete along with his siblings spent much of their time climbing trees at their grandparent’s home in Sydney, Pete was very much a nature child. Throughout his early childhood life, Pete had a curiosity about spirituality, often attending Christian church services with his aunt.

However, life took a challenging turn during Pete's completion of his Higher School Certificates, as both his grandfathers passed away both unexpectedly. This period prompted deep introspection, unraveling family history marked by trauma. Pete embarked on a journey to heal ancestral wounds, discovering that two of his great-grandfathers on each side of the family had perished during the war, both betrayed by their male greek neighbours and then were captured and killed by the Germans in front of their families, leaving a lasting impact in a trust of the masculine for subsequent generations.

Beyond ancestral trauma, Pete recognised a recurring theme in his own life, particularly concerning his quest for love and intimacy. Diving into his subconscious patterns, this realisation led him back to his conception and birth, unearthing a narrative of a deep rooted fear of rejection in the womb. This led Pete through a path of avoidance, dissociative patterns and a sense of not belonging, this realisation and understanding of self through the inner work became a pivotal part of Pete's personal growth.

Post-high school, unexplainable stress and anxiety consumed him, leading to a phase of escapism through a party lifestyle fuelled by alcohol, drugs, clubbing, and unhealthy eating. Amidst this self-destructive whirlwind, Pete questioned the core aspects of his existence—his contentment, health, and spiritual alignment. Seeking answers, he stumbled upon Reiki and Kinesiology, which gradually alleviated layers of stress and anxiety.

Despite his party-centric lifestyle, Pete managed to earn a university degree in Civil Engineering, providing him with a grounded structure throughout his spiritual expansion. Over a decade as an engineer, he cultivated a balanced perspective on spirituality, integrating both feminine and masculine energies.

During this transformative decade, Pete not only healed but also discovered a passion for guiding others through their own storms of self-doubt. Deepening his understanding of a holistic approach, relationships, purpose and career aspirations, Pete reconnected with his inner self.

His journey started to become clear when he explored the healing properties of the Cannabis plant. Using Cannabis as a plant ally in mindfulness practices since 2011, Pete found it to be a powerful tool for opening his heart and fostering curiosity about life. Despite occasional encounters with anxiety and paranoia, he delved deeper into the medicine, undergoing a profound "dark night of the soul" experience that revealed his inner struggles and the need for transmutation.

Studying various holistic modalities, including intensive breathwork training, Pete felt a calling to join The Center for Medicinal Mindfulness, the first legal psychedelic plant medicine centre in the United States. Through cannabis-assisted psychedelic therapy, he accessed deeper aspects of his psyche, healing dissociative patterns and releasing ancestral and childhood traumas, Pete learnt to trust himself and others again.

Encountering Pete on this shared path helps with emotional liberation, somatic releasing, physical rejuvenation, and a reconnection with the body to alleviate stress and anxiety. His goal is to guide individuals toward soulful harmony, helping them release past traumas and align with their essence for a purposeful and joyful life.

Pete emphasises that health goes beyond physical well-being, considering it our greatest treasure. While acknowledging the merits of conventional medicine, he believes that natural healing modalities resonate more deeply with the body, mind, and soul. Armed with a wealth of knowledge in personal development, spirituality, and somatic understanding of the body, Pete's dharma is to assist others in living their best lives. Using a variety of therapeutic techniques, he guides clients on an inner journey to tap into their innate healing powers, fostering growth, self-awareness, and, in essence, serving as a reflector in Human Design, a mirror, revealing yourself to yourself, much like the spirit of Cannabis.
