Pete's 8 Pillars of Health – Water

The saying is if we practice something often enough, then we become it, then we receive. Developing your self-awareness and self-practice regimes with these pillars and ideas will help you learn more about yourself and what you’re capable of. Most of us spend our lives living in a kind of limited trance. We are essentially asleep to the world and like most people miss out on what they are capable of in this short lifetime.

Society tends to overcomplicate ways of being healthy, so I have tried to break down these healthy lifestyle habits with some clear logic.

The next pillar I would like to talk about is Water.

Why is water so important?

If you weren’t aware already, our cells and organs are full of water, your body is 70% water and your brain is 90% water with the surrounding fluid. Yet as a society, we continue to forget the healing benefits of water and consistently choose soft drinks, coffee, flavoured water and energy drinks as water substitutes. Water – and not Vitamin water or sparkling soda, but real, pure water is your best friend on your journey to repairing mental and physical health and increasing your vitality.

Water is very important to the mechanics of the human body and provides us with good performance, more energy, clarity of thinking and proper mind/body function. The body cannot work without it, just as a car cannot run without petrol, so without pure water the body’s system is impaired. It also helps lubricate the joints and gets rid of waste through urination, perspiration and bowel movements.

When I was in my early 20s, I suffered from a lot of headaches and migraines. This was a sign of dehydration and a sign I needed more water. As I increased my water intake my headaches have virtually disappeared. The days I don’t drink enough water I feel the headaches coming back.

There was a very interesting and for some people controversial experiment conducted by a Japanese psychist named Dr Masuru Emoto who showed how our thoughts and words can affect water, Emoto took distilled water froze the water molecules and looked at them under a microscope, he observed was an empty molecule of water, until one time it changed and become a structured 6 pointed star. The only variable – was the man passing it on another person was saying thank you and put it in the freezer. As they kept doing it, they kept making the 6-pointer star, they started using other words such as peace, gratitude, and different inspiring words to reproduce the shapes. They then did negative experiments, I hate you, you
smell bad & the molecule looked broken

He asked the question, what if these waters affected plants in different ways, he then put thank you water in plants and that helped them grow. He put I hate you water in plants and the plant would die within weeks. Another trial was with Human DNA cells, they put in Petri dishes with I hate you water, and the cells would decay quickly. Whereas thank you in water the DNA cells would stay alive and would repair the cells.

Our thoughts give out energy and shape our lives – when we think about something it goes outwards. So if your brain is 90% water and your body is 70% water, someone telling you that they hate you can cause the water to change which can create problems, someone says something supportive might make you live longer and be clear from forming diseases as your physiology changes. Think positively and your life will be positive. What you are saying to other people, in your own head, you are saying to yourself. Instead of saying things like I’m not good enough, I am getting old. Say positive things like I am strong, I am happy, I am successful, I am loved. This is where positive affirmations can really help the mind and the body.

Some water tips?

  • Every morning drink 500mL to 1 Litre with a little bit of lemon water, this helps kick-start my systems and bodily functions. Your brain and organs need to get firing first thing in the morning.

  • Fresh fruits and fresh veggies mostly consist of approximately 70-80 percent water which helps with hydration.

  • Drink 1 Litre of water per 25kg of body weight a day. So if you weigh 75kg, get in at least 3 Litres. Work out how many litres of water you drink a day. The hot weather most likely means you need to ensure you keep this water intake up.

  • Jump in cold water or have a cold shower, it helps reduce inflammation and calms the nervous system.

Water is, and should be your best friend, for life. 💙💦

Be well,
